The Le Sueur News-Herald documented the club's origins in 1926, where Dr. R. M. Kraft, Ben Schlegel, and Paul Eastwood Sr. were inspired to establish a golf club during a leisurely picnic. Despite their limited knowledge of the sport, they enlisted Ray Pefferlie's expertise, and with his guidance, identified a promising location on Ben's farm east of town.

With the support of twenty-five initial investors, the team cleared the old cornfield that served as the club's inaugural course. Under Ebbie Gilbertson's direction, nine holes were mapped out, transforming the land into Le Sueur Golf Club.

From humble beginnings tending to the course with hand tools and borrowed mowers, dedicated members laid the foundation for what is now regarded as one of Minnesota’s premier golf venues. The club not only offers exceptional golfing experiences but also serves as a social hub for the community, where camaraderie and good food are enjoyed in a picturesque setting.
